    Pubertal Awareness Seminar for Grade V Pupils

    The Grade V Pupils of the Notre Dame University - Elementary Training Department (NDU-ETD) attended the whole day Pubertal Awareness Seminar last July 23, 2010 at the Educational Media Center (for Boys) and Engineering Audio Visual Room (for Girls).

    This seminar is conducted every school year for Grade V pupils for them to understand the bodily changes they are experiencing.

    Topics given were: Meaning, Nature and Characteristics of Puberty, Female Secondary Sex Characteristics:Its Psycho - Social Implications, Male Secondary Sex Characteristics:Its Psycho-emotional Implications, Understanding One's Sexuality and Healthy Attitudes Towards Circumcision.

    Speakers for the girls were Ms. Marites M. Pacete - NDRVMCC Guidance Counselor, Prof. Cecilia N. Pareņas-NDU Guidance Counselor, and Prof. Regina Tolentino-NDU CHS- Clinical Instructor.

    Speakers for the boys were Ms. Jocelyn Bacera - NDU Guidance Counelor, Mr. Jorge Zapico - NDCI Guidance Counselor, and Prof. Antonio V. Lim - OSAS Dean.

    About 174 pupils attended the seminar, 91 girls and 83 boys.
