The event started with a Eucharistic Celebration presided by Fr. Ramon Bernabe, OMI for the Catholics; Thanksgiving Service by Ustadz Mahdi Tungao for the Moslem, and Fellowship Prayer Service by Prof. Bartolome Tandog and Engr. Florentino Bongcawel for the Non-Catholics.

The highlights of the event were the: Presentation of Students in the different Degree, Non-degree programs as well as the ETD pupils to Fr. Eduardo G. Tanudtanud, OMI, University President; the Formal Academic Opening Address of the Fr. President; and the Lighting of the Academic Candle by the Fr. President assisted by the ETD Student Council President - Rojean C. Romanes, SSG President - Mr. Johari S. Casan, Mr. Anthony P. Garcing - Employees Assembly President, and Dr. Alfonso B. Gonzales-Faculty Assembly President.
