JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL

Introduction

The NOTRE DAME UNIVERSITY-JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL (NDU-JHS) is run by the Oblates of Mary Immaculate. NDU-JHS abides by the Vision, Mission, Directions, Core Values and Strategy of Notre Dame University.

At NDU-JHS, education is focused on the development of the students: developing in them the basic tools for lifelong learning, critical and creative thinking and expression through a balanced curriculum and activities, and inculcating in them the NDU Core Values of Faith, Integrity, Respect, Excellence, and Service (FIRES) and the commitment to preserve and develop traditions and values of the Filipino heritage, helping the students become persons of values and character.

Equally important at NDU-JHS is that students are provided with opportunities to have fun while learning. Classroom activities encourage students not only to think critically but to be creative as well. A Student Development Program which includes academic leadership, socio-cultural, spiritual and sports activities will enable students to explore a wide range of experiences.

NDU-JHS, though in a multicultural milieu, offers activities which enrich students' own faith and culture. Religion classes and religious services are held for Christian and Muslim students.

The Administration and other personnel of the NDU-JHS include the Board of Trustees, President, Vice President for Academic Affairs, Principal, Assistant Principal, Prefect of Discipline, Campus Ministry Coordinator, Faculty, Guidance Counselor, Secretary/Records Staff, Librarian, and School Nurse, Physician, and Dentist.

NDU-JHS is also supported by other sectors of Notre Dame University such as the personnel from the Academic Support Sector, Finance, Identity and Mission, Information Management Office and Information and Communications Technology.

In a learning environment like NDU-JHS, adherence to School and Academic Policies and living the Student Code of Conduct are essential. These will help guide students in their day to day life in school, and in their relationships with their teachers, classmates and schoolmates.
